Racing

• We aim to run a race every Saturday afternoon, nominally from March through to December inclusive (see "When").
• Races are run to Portsmouth Numbers (PN) (un-amended).
• In the summer, races are usually 'handicap'. All boats start together. Individual finishing times are corrected to PN. Start time is usually 2.15 pm (see "When").
• When daylight hours are shorter we run 'pursuits' - a 60 minute race (if your PN is 1000) with individual start times determined by PN. First over the line wins. Start time is usually 1.45 pm (see "When").
• We attend, and occasionally host, open events.
• We expect gentlemanly (and lady-like) behaviour on the water - protest flags are discouraged!
