Wind
- The prevailing south-westerly nominally runs the length of the Docks. This means courses that are predominantly beats and runs. The boat that is fast on a reach has little advantage, tending to 'level-up' the field, and putting a premium on sailing skills.
- The effect of the buildings surrounding the Docks, and the Avon Gorge 'wind tunnel' leads to 'interesting' local wind patterns. Sail at Baltic Wharf and you will hone your ability to stay 'on-the-wind'.
